floors
We decided to put hardwood floors down in the front room, kitchen and half bath. We changed the cherry wood floors to carpet in the family room. Odd, I know. Who puts carpet where there was hardwood. I like carpet in family rooms. I feel like its just a little cozier. The kids can roll around on the floor. An area rug just isn't quite the same. I just wanted to get rid of the FOUR different types of flooring we had in the downstairs alone. Four. Parquet, carpet, tile, wood.
We thought Trev could get the floors laid in a weekend. Ummm...yeah right. It takes a smidge longer when you're nailing each piece down. Trev spent many a late night trying to get those floors done. You can kind of see them in the pics. Also, you can see all the stuff that was once in our front room, but had to be moved out so that Trev could lay the floor.
The sink and stove were removed on 3/3. These pictures are dates 4/16. Ugh. We were supposed to get the countertops on 4/17. That didn't happen. Like with everything else we did to the kitchen there were some hiccups. I thought about picking another granite, but Trev said that in the long run another week wasn't going to matter. Let me tell you, it was a hard week. He was right, but I do still remember how hard that week was....
