Teeth

Jake is teething again.  He is so SLLLLOOOOOWWWW when it comes to teething.  His top two teeth are coming in now.  He was sleeping well at night.  Was.  He was a happy baby during the day.  Was.  He was gaining independence at the gym nursery.  Was.

It’s quite draining when you can’t make your kid happy.  To make up for it, I’ve reverted back to letting him nurse constantly.  It’s the only time he’s happy and seemingly pain free.  It’s going to be a bitch to break that habit.  45 minutes to get him down for his nap today.  45 minutes because I refused to nurse him to sleep.

We’ve decided to take the crib down.  It’s in the closet.  My friend Sarah convinced me that we should just go with it and stop stressing out about it.  I trust her opinion.  Not because she’s a fabulous lady, but because she’s not only educated in child development, she’s seen the good, the bad and the ugly with her own son and with other children in her prior line of work.  She talks me down the motherhood ledge every now and then.  Hopefully one day, I’ll return the favor.

So there’s no crib in the room.  It’s kind of weird.  He doesn’t seem to care, though.  Before the teeth came, he loved it.  Hopefully we’ll get back to that day!

I’m feeling a little overwhelmed this week.  Sigh.
