I like to tell clients not to have expectations before they come into a shoot.  Not to take the pressure off of me but, to take the pressure off of the kids.  I really do think that kids can tell when something means a lot to their parents.  Some kids thrive with that knowledge and well....some don't.  I do feel that your expectations decrease as the number of kids involved increases.  :)
